Moving your account to a new phone

Keep your check-ins, groups and Pro when you switch phones, including iPhone to Android.

Written by Arthur Magalhães

Your check-ins and groups are saved to your GymRats account, not to your phone. To keep them, sign in on the new phone the same way you signed in on the old one.

Before you switch

On the old phone, go to Menu → Settings and note the email on your account. See How to change account information.

Signed in with email

Download GymRats on the new phone and sign in with the same email and password. Forgot the password? See How to reset my password?

Signed in with Apple

New iPhone: tap Sign in with Apple using the same Apple Account.

Moving to Android: sign in with Apple isn't available on Android. Before you switch, set up an email and password on your old iPhone:

  1. On the old iPhone, open GymRats → side menu → Settings.

  2. Check the email on your account. If it looks like [email protected] (you chose Hide My Email when you signed up), change it to an email you can open. See How to change account information.

  3. Sign out, tap Forgot password on the sign-in screen and enter that email.

  4. Open the email from GymRats and create a password. See How to reset my password?

  5. On the Android phone, sign in with that email and password.

Signed in with Google

Tap Sign in with Google with the same Google account, on Android or iPhone.

Your Pro subscription

  • Same platform (iPhone to iPhone, Android to Android): your subscription moves with your Apple or Google account. If Pro doesn't show up, see Your payment went through but Pro is not active.

  • iPhone to Android or the reverse: Apple and Google subscriptions don't transfer between stores. Your iPhone subscription carries on until you cancel it. If you want Pro on Android, cancel it in iPhone Settings and subscribe again on Google Play. See How to cancel your subscription.

  • TotalPass or Smart Fit: reconnect under My Connections on the new phone if it doesn't show as connected.

Reconnect your devices

Health apps and wearables (Apple Health, Health Connect, Samsung Health, Garmin…) need to be connected again under My Connections. See Connect your devices.

Signed in and see an empty account?

You probably created a new account by signing in a different way. Sign out and try your other sign-in method. Still can't get in? See What to do if you can't access your account. If it still looks empty, send us a DM on Instagram @gymratsapp with both emails.
